NO IS NO!
Nice debut effort by No Fable at Bairnsdale on 6 October, battling on well to grab third over 1000m.
No Fable was bred by bloodstock guru, Tim Stewart, who also is a part owner of the promising filly.
No Fable is by the highly prolific stallion, Hemingway, who stands at Malcolm Boyd’s Bullarook Farm and has an amazing strike rate of something like 83% money earners to runners.
Tim Stewart is also breeder/part owner of another Griffiths Racing performer in No Peer, who won a race over 1305m at Seymour in July.
In an explanation that would probably only make sense to someone involved in the industry, No Peer’s dam is the dam of No Fable’s dam. In other words, No Peer is No Fable’s uncle.
All a little confusing, but spare a thought for No Peer’s mum, Artful Lass.
She had 11 foals and they were called No Fibbing, No Mischief, No Mystery, No Peace, No Debate, No Chatter, No Retreat, No Jest, No Fantasy, No Peer and Diamond Prospect (that last one must have been the black horse of the family!).
No Mischief has eight named foals: No Whisper, No Alibi, No Blushing, No Challenge, No Surprise, No Fiction, No Fable and Sea Frolic, while No Mystery has produced No Fanfare, No Trouble and No Dispute.
That’s more ‘nos’ than I’ve had in a lifetime of begging and any half decent journo would ask Tim why he calls all his horses ‘no’.
I could ask, but knowing Tim, he’d probably tell me no!

We
are still seeking partners to race several horses in the stable. All
the yearlings have now been broken in and have completed some training
in my stables. Please contact the stable on (03)59 95 2444 or alternatively
0418 349 539 should you wish to discuss horse ownership further. We
would be happy to provide interested persons with a detailed performance
folder outlining the Griffiths Racing Stables operation.
